To kick it off in the first subject I will be talking about my attempts and successes at installing HEN(a Homebrew Enabler) on the PS3 Slim.First I will talk about how I first heard about modifying PS3.A PlayStation 3 Slim was given to me in 2015 by my sister’s friend Misty and when I’d get home from school I would spend the rest of my time playing video games after homework.My favorite games were Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Fallout 3 as well as New Vegas and Minecraft.I remember hearing a friend or a group of classmates speak of modding and getting game mod menus.I would listen in awe as they’d explain what the benefits of modding were and how they made games more fun.Now,there’s 2 types of modifications you can make on the PlayStation one being the Custom FirmWare mod and the other being HEN,the one I installed was HEN for my slim because the CFW isn’t available on certain PS3 Slims(Later Versions)and also all PS3 Super Slims.Here is a photo of a PS3 FAT.

PS3 FAT(Original Model)

This PS3 sold about 87.4 Million Units Worldwide and is the Model of ps3 that can install custom firmware on it instead of just a home-brew enabler.

PS3 Slim

This PS3 is compatible with HEN and CFW depending on the model of the console.

PS3 Super Slim

Now the PS3 Super Slim is the latest sold version of ps3 that there is and it is only compatible with HEN.

Now I will explain to you how I modded my own PlayStation 3.

Things you will need:

  • PS3 slim
  • Know your firmware version
  • Computer with internet access
  • Internet
  • USB storage stick
  • PS3 remote (DualShock 3)
  • PS3 remote charging cable
  • Patience(lol)

When I first modded I made sure that I could download the appropriate firmware(HEN) by looking at the serial number on the ps3.After I did I would search up if either CFW or HFW were available for my ps3 slim in which case only HEN was available for mine.CFW,or custom firmware, as I might have mentioned is only available on ps3 FAT models and some ps3 slims but not ps3 super slims.So take your ps3 slim and connect the ps3 charging cable and remote.Now:

1.Go to your computer and watch a tutorial on downloading hen.Be cautious with the way you do things you do NOT want to brick your console.

2.Copy the files onto your usb storage stick.

3.Plug it into the right usb charging port on the ps3.
